The process of maximizing the value of finished diamonds from a rough stone requires both talent and pure engineering. The rough diamond passes through four important stages namely - Grouping, Planning, Marking and Cutting. All stages require years of training and experience.

The final value of the gemstone is determined upon the perfect execution of these stages. Even though currently sophisticated equipment like 3D scanning and modelling are used to aid this process, a trained eye is still very much the backbone of the industry.
